Nicole Cullen / Principal Physiotherapist

Nicole has been with The Physio Space for many years now, and during this time she has evolved her musculoskeletal physiotherapy skills, journeyed into motherhood and has completed extensive professional development in Women's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. She leads the Embrace Women’s Health service.

Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, Nicole completed her Bachelor Degree in Sports and Exercise Science and worked as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, where she fostered her passion for using ‘exercise as medicine’ to recover from injury, illness and improve quality of life. She is now mum to two beautiful little girls, Maddison and Amelia, and her own personal journey into parenthood influenced her extension into our Embrace Women’s Health Physiotherapy team to work with women and empower them in their journey of pregnancy, recovery and wellbeing in all life stages.

Nicole is delighted to bring her skills to the Embrace Birth & Baby Birth Preparation program which she has been working towards for a number of years. This program enables her to support birthing mothers and their partners to prepare well for birth, and to come out of their birthing experience physically and emotionally safe.

Nicole has combined her knowledge of Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy with her own personal experience in motherhood to enhance her Women’s Health Physiotherapy skills. Nicole now offers advanced musculoskeletal treatment of:

  • The spine, thorax, pelvis and hip regions

  • Pelvic floor and pelvic organ dysfunction

  • Pregnancy care and birth preparation

  • Post-natal recovery including pelvic floor and abdominal rehab

  • Pilates and exercise rehabilitation programming

Nicole really enjoys working in the pregnancy and post-partum space. She is passionate about helping mum’s throughout the pregnancy journey whether it be with joint pain, safe exercise or preparing both the mind and body for labour and birth.

She understands the female body changes during the pregnancy and postnatal phases, the demands of motherhood and importance of self-care. She loves being able to help women get back to the activities they love including exercise and sport after having children!
